If you can breath, you can practice yoga.
YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE
The most common misconception about yoga is that you need to be able to touch your toes and be flexible. Some of us may go our whole lives never having touched our toes, and that’s okay. It’s important to understand that you can start practicing yoga exactly how you are today. Flexible people just need to work harder to feel the stretch that some of us feel more easily.
LEARN TO UNITE BODY AND MIND
Yoga is our relationship with our bodies, minds, spirits, other beings, and what motivates and inspires us. So many of us abuse our bodies even when we think we’re being healthy. A yogic path starts with a healthier relationship with your body. Everything else follows.
In our society, we are over-worked and bombarded with information, because of this our nervous system gets overstimulated and we are stressed out all the time. Ever feel like you are rushing through life, not sure of what your running from or rushing to? If we take time for stillness we can return to our true, peaceful selves. The breath and movement unites us with the present moment, instead of fearing the future or regretting the past. The practice of yoga can teach us how to slow down and live in the now.
ANYBODY WHO WANTS TO, CAN PRACTICE YOGA
Just show up, and allow yourself to “be” instead of “do”. There’s no competition, no winner in yoga. Trust that you are not only enough- but you are perfect just as you are today.
